Position Overview
The Ticketing & Scanning Supervisor oversees front-line admission scanning operations and RAD (Ride All Day) redemption areas during Westerner Days taking place July 15–19, 2026. Reporting to the Tickets Alberta Manager, this role is responsible for supporting efficient guest flow, accurate ticket validation, and seamless redemption processes while maintaining exceptional customer service standards in a fast-paced and high-volume fair environment.
This position supports the coordination of daily admissions operations, provides guidance and support to front-line staff, and assists in resolving guest service, ticketing, and operational issues to ensure a safe, efficient, and positive guest experience throughout Westerner Days.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Under the direction of the Tickets Alberta Manager, the Ticketing & Scanning Supervisor is responsible for the following:
- Supervise daily operations at entry gates and RAD (Ride All Day) redemption locations during Westerner Days.
- Support and oversee staff responsible for ticket scanning, admissions processing, and credential verification.
- Ensure accurate validation and redemption of RAD passes while troubleshooting ticketing or scanning issues as they arise.
- Monitor guest flow and adjust staffing levels or operational processes to minimize wait times and congestion.
- Provide ongoing guidance, training, and real-time operational support to Ticketing & Scanning Agents and front-line staff.
- Serve as the first point of escalation for ticketing concerns, guest service issues, and technical challenges.
- Coordinate with Guest Services, Admissions, midway partners, and event teams to support smooth and efficient operations.
- Ensure compliance with Westerner Park policies, procedures, safety standards, and guest service expectations.
- Assist with operational setup, breakdown, and the distribution and collection of scanning equipment and supplies.
- Support front-line operations as needed and reallocate resources based on operational demands and guest traffic
What You’ll Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Post-secondary education in Event Management, Business Administration, Hospitality, or a related field (completed or in progress) is considered an asset.
- 2 to 3 years of customer service experience required.
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience in events, customer service, admissions, or a related environment preferred.
- Strong supervisory, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm, make decisions, and work effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
- Experience or comfort working with Paciolan ticketing and scanning systems is considered an asset.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on delivering positive guest experience.
- Highly adaptable with the ability to manage changing priorities and operational demands.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Availability to work all required shifts during Westerner Days from July 14–19, 2026, including days, evenings, and extended hours as needed based on operational needs.
