Position Overview
The Ticketing & Scanning Attendant plays an important role in delivering a smooth, efficient, and welcoming guest experience during Westerner Days taking place July 15–19, 2026. Reporting to the Tickets Alberta Manager, this position is responsible for scanning tickets and credentials at admission entry points, supporting RAD (Ride All Day) redemption operations, and assisting guests with ticketing inquiries.
This role requires flexibility and adaptability, as team members may be assigned to various admission and redemption areas throughout the event and must be able to respond quickly to changing operational needs in a fast-paced fair environment.
The Ticketing & Scanning Attendant contributes to the overall success of Westerner Days by supporting efficient guest flow, maintaining high customer service standards, and ensuring a positive guest experience at Westerner Park.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Under the direction of the Tickets Alberta Manager, the Ticketing & Scanning Attendant is responsible for the following:
- Scan digital and physical tickets using handheld scanning devices at designated admission entry points.
- Verify ticket validity, credentials, and admission eligibility while assisting guests with entry or scanning concerns.
- Support RAD (Ride All Day) redemption operations by validating eligible tickets and assisting guests through the redemption process.
- Provide friendly, professional customer service while offering directions, event information, and general guest assistance.
- Maintain efficient guest flow and assist with queue and line management during high-traffic periods.
- Adapt to changing assignments and support multiple admissions and redemption locations as operational needs evolve.
- Escalate invalid tickets, technical issues, guest concerns, or operational challenges to supervisors in a timely manner.
- Handle scanning equipment and admission materials responsibly and report equipment malfunctions or technical issues promptly.
- Support the successful delivery of Westerner Days by contributing to a safe, organized, and positive guest experience.
What You’ll Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent (completed or in progress) preferred
- Previous customer service, admissions, or event experience considered an asset
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-traffic event environment
- Comfortable using technology, including handheld scanning devices and ticketing systems
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to pivot between assignments and operational needs as required
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Ability to remain calm and professional when addressing guest concerns or operational challenges
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Availability to work all required shifts during Westerner Days from July 15–19, 2026, including days, evenings, weekends, and extended hours based on operational needs
